We lost our little Princess today. I let everyone else out this morning and when they came in Princess was missing. I went to look for her but it was too late - for some reason she went to the front this morning and into the street, something she has never, ever done before. We are just devastated - I haven't stopped crying yet. And I can't even imagine how Jay is coping - Princess was so much his baby.

Thanks Robin. There was nothing at all - I tried, I listened and felt for a heartbeat but there just wasn't any. They say bad things come in 3's, well this makes 3 and I am done with death. There has just been too much of it in the last few months. And this one just hurts so bad, as Melissa said - my chest aches it hurts so bad. I just can't imagine not having her around.

I know this may sound horrid but when I lost my bostons it hurt me more than ever losing a human has. I smile now about certain things my bostons used to do but I still cry about losing them and it has been years. Well, I (and I am sure everyone on this board) am here for you!!!!

Pam,

I am so very sorry for your loss. I cried reading your post.  There are no words that will help you with your loss. But know that we are all here for you. Amos will help keep her safe. Big Pug Hugs to you and your family.

Melissa, thank you. I was thinking of you and Amos this morning and hoping that Amos and Princess meet up. I remember you saying that your chest hurt from the grief and now I know exactly what you meant. It just hurts so bad right now.

Very sad and tired. I know it gets better but I am certainly not there yet. I keep seeing her sleeping in the yard, I kept waiting for her to snuggle up against me last night in bed. Instead I had Truffle sleeping on my pillow above my head with her head and paw touching me. I think the only one not too upset is Bitsy - she and Princess were not the best of friends, she has wanted to take Princess' spot for a long time so when Jay is ready she will probably step in.

My kids keep calling to see how I am doing - it helps that others care so thank you for asking Melissa.

Pam, I know it's been awhile since you lost your Princess, but how are you doing now?  Has the pain subsided, or at least slowed to a dull ache?  That is the worst part of having pets--we usually outlive them, and end up having to say goodbye to several over the course of our lifetimes.  Heaven knows I've lost my share too.  I often picture all of them that have already crossed the Rainbow Bridge, meeting up and playing together, no more pain or sadness.  It helps a bit, but I still miss them.  My sympathies to you and your husband.

*HuG*
