Well, the guys have a new dog run. Jay put together 2 runs and has one opening at the bottom of the deck stairs. So now there is no more galavanting in the woods nor any chance of another one going into the street. They aren't too sure they like it at all. I don't think they consider it going outside anymore. But at least we won't worry any more and we won't lose another one.

We have hardly had any snow this year. Our biggest snowfall was a week ago and that was about 8 inches then we had another 3 on Friday night but most of that is gone. Still some snow on the ground but only in patches. It has been a rather mild winter for us.

*42 with the snow talk. We haven't seen ground forever here either. It is 54 degrees outside right now at 8am but we have a winter storm warning for tonight through Wednesday night, go figure. I am about sick of this crap myself. The only thing, I hate spring because of the MUD! Well, Pam....that is awesome that you get to do that. I am on a dead end road with 30 acres and my dogs are still confined when they go out unless I am out there with them. Better safe than sorry.

I just wish we had done it earlier then we would still have Princess around but at least now we won't go through that again.

We ALL wish we would have done things different or sooner or later, etc. when something happens. But, yes atleast it won't happen again.

Princess got into the road last Monday and got hit. She has gone up to the road before but never onto it - she liked to chase the trucks away. We tried to keep her away but somehow she managed it last week. So now, finally, we have a dog run so none of the others can go near the street.

OMG I am so sorry.... This is my worst nightmare.  Dora loves to chase cars, bikes, kids on skateboards....  She scares the crap out of me.  I have to keep a baby gate in the door so she can't get out.  I am so sorry......

Thanks

PRincess did not like trucks so she would run towards the road - usually on the grass and be stopped by the drainage ditch - and bark until she chased them away - and they always went away so her barking was working. We would keep an eye on her and call her back but somehow I didn't notice her going towards the street and when I called them all in she didn't come. So I went to look and found her. Definately my worst nightmare - it just feels as if a part of me is missing.

How are you holding up Pam? It's hard. I am still struggling with it. But I can now look at some pictures of him and smile. He was a good baby.

Still really hurts - I was looking at the dog run yesterday and crying - if only we had done this sooner. And today when I saw the picture of Princess I teared up again. I still can't look at pictures of her. But it is nice to see them up there. I know it will take time but there is just this hole in me, just a piece missing. Part of me wants to get another dog but we have 3 and Bitsy seems to be slowly stepping into Princess' spot with Jay - not that she will ever replace Prin but she seems to be staying with Jay more now. Of course she has always wanted to be an "Only" Pug and since Surge and Truff are definately mine she stands more of a chance at "only" with Jay. And Jay seems to be responding to Bits too so I am hoping this will work. But we do miss her.

How exciting that you got to hear the baby's heart beat! I'm glad things are going good.

No - I didn't even hear breaks or anything. I was calling for her and I saw a cop with lights up at the street - he had seen her in the road and was moving her off to the side when I got up there - he was so nice - he helped me get back down to the house without falling on the ice and made sure there was someone in there for me - I was crying so hard I couldn't see where I was going and he was afraid I was going to fall on the ice.

You want me to take her down for awhile?

No, not really, but thanks. As tough as it still is to see her there is still some comfort even if the tears come.

OK, as long as you are sure. I don't wanna be upsetting anyone but want to share the memory of the ones we lost here.
