Joanne wrote: The dogs make this list because of all of the rerports of them biting and killing people. I have never read a report that a Golden killed someone one, or a lab for that matter.... My friend had an Akita that we couldn't look in the eyes...SCARY! The thing was ready to snap. Why would someone want a dog like that? I was attacked by my grandparent's doberman. That was a good time. If anyone reads about a Standard Poodle killing anyone, please post the story.... Joanne, I know a family who lost their 2 year old son to the family's pet... It was their beloved Golden... Just so you know, i didn't have to look far to find a report with a Yorkie who has killed. Here is the link, debunking much of what the media hypes with this "Pit Bull Scare" http://www.thedogpress.com/Columns/Jade/07_Dog.Bite.Stats_09.htm "They also mention a study by Pickney and Kennedy (Pediatrics 1982) listing DBRF from May of 1975 through April of 1980 which lists German Shepherd Dogs as the #1 killer for that time period, Husky type dog second and Saint Bernard third. “Indeed since 1975, dogs belonging to more than 30 breeds have been responsible for fatal attacks on people, including Dachshunds, a Yorkshire Terrier, and a Labrador Retriever.” Personally i am much more scared of that 2lb Yorkie's bite than the 100lb Pit...or Lab. I think we should ban bad dog owners that make these dog mean and fight them... education is need. Education is a must.
