Hi everyone, my name is Catherine and I met Robin three weeks ago at NCCR. I"m a native of Westfield, but spent a 30-year hiatus in the Buffalo, NY area. I've been back in my hometown nearly three years, and I'm loving it. I've been an animal person my entire life, and made my first 'rescue' at age 7. I grew up next door to the local vet hospital, and thought about that as a career, but couldn't see me spending 8 years in college.
I have three wonderful sons, of whom I am very proud. My youngest is my 'animal angel' and has done rescue with me most of his life. He just turned 18, and we, along with my fiance', Steve, just started volunteering at NCCR. Robin told me of her vision for her canine sanctuary, and I was moved, so I'm rolling up my sleeves, and my family is getting involved to help her make her dream a reality. I'm in the process of opening an art gallery in Westfield, so I have plenty of artists to help with design.
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better, and helping get this project off the ground. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
