I have questioned this procedure from the outset, and chose to NOT have my animals microchipped. After reading this article, I'm glad I went with my guts. The dogs have collars with all my contact info, and I keep very close track of them when they're outside. I realize that many will tell me that the chips have helped, but at what cost?
