Do you think your ONE vote will make a difference in an election? I am very curious to know how everyone here feels about this? Even if you don't vote, what do you think?

Not only is voting a right, it's a responsibility.  If you don't vote, then you don't have the right to complain about the outcome of elections.  It's not the economy, or politics, or violence on television that's causing the moral decay in this great country.  It's apathy.  No one cares, and even if they do, most don't do anything about a situation.  We all leave it up to someone else to take action.  It's time for people to get off their couch-potato butts and do something, even if it's voting.

Thanks for highlighting this subject.  I hope more people have voted in your poll on the forum jump, which I'm guessing has prompted the new topic?   oH*

I have to agree with Catherine. It really isn't a matter of whether or not you think your vote will make a difference. I guess in the big scheme of things one single vote does not and it can get pretty disheartening at times. However, as citizens of this country, we have a responsibility to vote and make our feelings and opinions heard (although if no one is listening that is kind of a mute point and certainly sometimes it feels as if no one is listening). But if enough people don't vote that can make a difference and therein lies the problem today - too many people don't vote and that does directly influence the outcome of elections. And as Catherine pointed out - if you don't vote, you don't get to complain about things, not that that stops people from complaining.
