I finally got to meet a face behind the voice. A woman from a few towns over is an area rep for Dogs Deserve Better as I am for my local area. Anyways, I had met with her at the Chaut. County Canine Rescue in Westfield NY, where she volunteers. She is the sweetest woman I think I have ever met! Anyways, I got to see the place, play with the dogs, walk some of the dogs, help with a few things there and had the most wonderfull time. They are great! So, I am going to be going there on Friday evenings to help out and have also put in my volunteer application to help at other times when someone is needed. This is something that gets me motivated to actually get my butt off the couch. Even if I actually get Canine-Corner off the ground and running here I will still help ANYWHERE I am needed. This put a smile on my face that is still with me this morning (well, afternoon now)! If there is a rescue or spca in your area I urge everyone, even if only an hour or so a week to volunteer your time. IT IS WORTH IT! The little bit of love givin' in the short amount of time lasts for these poor babies.
